Description
Approximately 200–250 meters of elevation gain.
These excursions focus on discovering and deepening your knowledge of the diversity of high-altitude plants, as well as their specific adaptations to
different vegetation zones—to sharpen your mind and senses, take the time to smell, touch (without picking!), observe with a magnifying glass, and better understand this fragile, miniature world of mountain flora.
You’ll learn about the uses of a wide variety of medicinal and culinary plant species—whether in bloom or bearing fruit—in the heart of Vanoise National Park, where the marmots, abundant in this area, might even show you their favorite plants!
In addition to botany, to introduce you to walking meditation, you’ll discover many tips for “walking differently,” using various breathing rhythms,
such as Afghan walking combined with Qigong and yoga exercises, as well as “supportive walking,” which heals, lightens, and relaxes you in the heart of nature.
Access is available by private vehicle or via free shuttle buses (allow about 15–20 minutes on foot from the parking lot at the last shuttle stop to the base of the Manchet Express chairlift to arrive on time).
What to bring: Shoes with treaded soles, appropriate clothing for the weather, a hat and/or beanie depending on the weather, sunscreen, sunglasses, a small backpack, and water.
Magnifying glasses provided; binoculars are welcome.
Reservations are required through the Tourist Office.
