Accessibility statement

Val d’Isère Tourisme is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Article 47 of French Law No. 2005-102 of 11 February 2005.

This accessibility statement applies to the website: www.valdisere.com

As part of its continuous improvement approach, Val d’Isère Tourisme is currently carrying out an accessibility assessment of its website in order to identify any areas of non-compliance and implement the necessary corrective actions.

Compliance status

An accessibility assessment based on the General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA 4.1) is currently being carried out on a representative sample of the website’s pages.

The detailed results of this assessment, as well as the website’s compliance level, will be published once the evaluation has been completed.

Content not fully accessible

Despite our best efforts to make the Val d’Isère website accessible, some content or features remain only partially accessible or cannot be used at all. The following has been identified as non-compliant or potentially non-compliant:

  • Some images do not always have alternative text (alt text), or the text may not accurately describing the image (important information is missing).
  • The contrast in certain areas of the website (buttons, text over images, headings on coloured backgrounds) is sometimes not easy to read, especially for people with visual impairments.
  • Some interactive components (drop-down menus, filters on “Restaurants”, “Accommodation”pages, etc.) cannot always be used with a keyboard, or the tab order may be confusing.
  • Videos (if present) may not feature subtitles or transcripts for the deaf or hard-of-hearing.
  • External “rich media” content or third-party services (interactive maps, webcams, etc.) may not provide an accessible alternative if an external script or API fails to load.
  • Some forms or fields for making reservations may lack clear labels or accessible error messages.
  • The website may not be fully usable without JavaScript (some essential components depend on scripts).

Ongoing improvements

We are currently working on:

  • Systematically adding and improving alternative text (alt text) for images so that important visual information is described correctly.
  • Reviewing the colour palette and the styles of buttons/interactive components to ensure sufficient contrast and improve readability on all devices.
  • Optimising keyboard navigation across the whole website (menus, filters, forms) to ensure a user-friendly experience without a mouse.
  • Gradually inserting subtitles and/or transcripts for the videos available on the website.
  • Working with our providers to offer accessible alternatives for embedded external content (e.g. interactive maps, webcams).
  • Making forms more accessible by using clear labels and better management of error messages.
  • Improving the compatibility of the website when browsing without JavaScript, so that essential content remains accessible.

A correction plan in gradual phases will be rolled out by the end of 2026.

Accessibility assistance tools

An accessibility assistance tool, “Accessconfig”, is available on the valdisere.com website.

This tool allows users to customize the display according to their needs (text size, contrast, spacing, etc.) in order to improve browsing comfort.

It helps facilitate access to certain content, particularly for users with specific readability needs.

However, this type of solution does not replace full technical compliance with the General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA). It is a complementary aid and does not, on its own, guarantee full accessibility of the website.

The tool is currently being improved to expand its features.
