1. A spot of culture Learn about the history of the mountains as a family

In Val d’Isère, an experience in the mountains is also about its history and traditions. The Musée de Val d’Isère invites people of all ages to journey back in time and admire the collection of ancient objects, scale models and listen to anecdotes about how the village was transfomed from a little mountain village into the ski resort you can see today. Come to the Media Library and enjoy a warm and comforting break to read, play games or take part in a creative workshop before going back out exploring. The perfect place to relax and at the same time, stimulate the children’s curiosity. And after that, why not go on a guided tour of the historic village, to explore the stone chalets and beautiful narrow streets and see what authentic Alpine life was really like. The cultural activities in Val d’Isère are the perfect choice to learn something new and enjoy some quality time as a family in this dreamy setting.

2. Exploring the mountains To admire the stunning scenery

Fancy getting some fresh air and admiring the incredible views? In Val d’Isère, the winter walks are refreshingly relaxing and a chance for everyone to explore the superb natural environment. The snow-covered scenery and peaceful atmosphere make this the ideal activity for some quality time as a family.

The unmissable Tour of Ouillette Lake is an easy and truly magical walk through picture-perfect scenery. The frozen lake stands at an altitude of 2,500 m and with the surrounding peaks, is an exceptional place to see. To get there, simply use the Solaire chairlift at the foot of the slopes (you’ll need a pedestrian pass). If you’re looking for a wilder setting, head to the peaceful atmosphere of Le Manchet valley. Enjoy a leisurely walk here, with snowshoes or just nice, warm and cosy gear, surrounded by spectacular mountains. The yellow bus will take you there in just a few minutes from the centre of the village.

3. Some excitement Sledding, mini snowmobile, ice skating, yooner...

A great holiday in Val d’Isère is not just about skiing! The children also deserve some adventure, to enjoy themselves in complete safety of course. Here, you can expect plenty of laughter as you whiz down the slopes as a family, for some fantastic family fun guaranteed. Enjoy yourselves as a family or with friends on our rather original sleds, available at the foot of the slopes! An instructor will show you how to use the Snake Gliss, Airboard and Yooner for free, throughout the winter season 🙂 The kids get their very own experience with our mini e-Fat Bikes! Treat them to a wild adventure this winter with the mini electric Fat Bikes, especially designed for the little ones and adapted for the snow. Suitable from a height of 1m15. After an introduction on the Kids Experience track, your children will be ready for a great family adventure! Thanks to our mini e-Fat Bikes, they will be able to discover a whole new kind of adventure on the snow and will be able to easily keep up with older family members on the slopes. And for teens looking to try something new, there’s the e-Buggy! From the age of 14, you can hire one of these electric off-road vehicles for a fun and eco-friendly experience on the snow. An original activity to explore Val d’Isère in a very different way, have some great fun and get a real boost of adrenaline!

The ice rink

Go and skate around Val d’Isère’s ice rink as a family! Enjoy a magical experience on the ice in the centre of the village. The whole family will have a ball together in this fantastic winter wonderland. Get your skates on and prepare for some great laughs for the whole family!

4. Enjoying the village spirit together Entertainment and relaxation as a family

There’s always something going on in the village, throughout the whole season, including shows, bands, outdoor games and illuminated parades that are sure to impress people of all ages. Families can also choose to go to the children’s shows at the “Centre des Congrès” (Conference Centre), where the magic shows, theatre productions and fairy tales will only add to the enchantment of this quality time as a family.

Take a dip in the Aquasport Centre pool! Discover its 416 m² leisure pool featuring a lazy river, water cannons, massage jets, a paddling pool and bubbling benches. A whole world designed to delight children, with swimming lessons also available and free activities to sign up for!

On the upper level, the lounge area offers a welcoming space to relax with a drink or a sweet treat. Children will love the indoor play area, table football, a driving simulator, and cosy sofas for peaceful moments shared together.
