Get ready for Europe’s highest trail!
Challenge yourself and cross the most beautiful panoramas of the Haute Tarentaise and Maurienne regions by taking part in one of the 6 races of this trail, the only one of its kind in France, organized in Val d’Isère. Do you like sporting challenges and want to walk or run for a good cause? Then the Odyssea trail and solidarity walk is for you!
As for the more daring and those who want to go beyond their limits, head for the 72km High Trail Vanoise with its 4,820 meters of ascent! Every year, this friendly, human sporting event brings together mountain lovers for a weekend.

Environment Week 2024

Take part in the 21st Environment Day in Val d’Isère, organised by the association Vie Val d’Is, on Wednesday 23 July from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm at the Amphithéâtre de Verdure.
This friendly and meaningful morning forms part of the “Zero Waste Mountain” initiative and invites both children and adults to help protect the natural environment by collecting litter in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
The activity is free and open to everyone, with several routes to suit all participants, a complimentary breakfast, a competition for the most unusual piece of litter collected, and a shared lunch break.

Head for the village of Val d’Isère to celebrate the traditional fête du vieux Val! Children’s fair, fireworks, garage sale, Savoyard meal, float parade… the whole village comes together to share a convivial and festive moment. Every year, the Pics à Bouic association enables the people of Val d’Isère to express their true sense of belonging to the community, and organizes this unique festival that transports us back in time.

Come and enjoy this typically regional fair in a warm and festive atmosphere. The program includes over 100 exhibitors and craftspeople from all over Savoie and Piedmont, showcasing their skills and passions. The Foire Avaline also features a wide range of activities for children, concerts of all kinds, Savoyard folklore and antique dealers. During these two days, the village of Val d’Isère is transformed and transported out of time. In the past, Savoy fairs were essential to the exchange of products between Italians and Tarentais. The Foire Avaline revives this tradition and invites you to discover the renowned products of our close neighbors.
Take advantage of the opportunity to stock up on good local produce, take a break at the wine stand for a tasting and be surprised by all the stories told by the sculptors who share their passion with us. From jewelry and books to essential oils, home decor and accessories, move from stall to stall and fall for this magnificent handmade porcelain vase!
On 29 August, electric mountain bike enthusiasts are invited to take part in a unique and friendly event: the Bellevarde Up Hill Flow.
The challenge? Climb the slopes of Bellevarde on a trail specially designed for uphill riding, while enjoying workshops, entertainment and refreshment stops along the route.
Open to intermediate and advanced riders, this experience offers a different way to explore the mountains in a fun and sporty atmosphere. It is a great opportunity to gain altitude, take in the stunning views over Val d’Isère, and round off the summer on an energetic high.
