Reaching up to 3,230 metres on the Pisaillas Glacier, Val d’Isère stands out for its exceptional altitude. More than 60% of the ski area lies above 2,200 metres, ensuring reliable snow cover well into spring across over 300 km of slopes.
Val d’Isère’s proximity to the Italian border allows it to benefit from the famous “Retour d’Est” weather phenomenon, which regularly brings heavy, highly localised snowfalls to the Haute Tarentaise, particularly on the upper slopes of the Pisaillas Glacier.
