Coming by train

Want to avoid traffic jams? Then the train is the ideal option.

The nearest station is Bourg-Saint-Maurice (40 minutes away), which is served by many trains, including high-speed trains (TGV, Eurostar, Thalys).

Take the bus from the station Bourg Saint-Maurice station

The bus is the easiest and cheapest way to get to Val d’Isère from the station, just 30 minutes from the resort.
Regular shuttle buses take you there throughout the day – the ideal option for stress-free arrival.

Coming by bus from the airport Geneva or Lyon

From Geneva and Lyon airports, direct bus services take you comfortably to Val d’Isère.
It’s a practical, economical and environmentally-friendly solution, perfect for travelling with a light mind while enjoying the Alpine scenery.

ALTIBUS terminals 

You’ll find an ALTIBUS bus ticket sales point inside the bus station and the Tourist Office, offering you the chance to buy your ticket directly on the spot for greater convenience and simplicity.

Coming by car Think carpooling!

As eco-friendly as it is economical, it’s the best way to meet people who are as keen on the mountains as you are!

There are 4 car-sharing stops in and around the village, where you can pick up or drop off a passenger:

  • 1 stop at the La Daille bus stop, in the downhill direction
  • 1 stop at the bus station
  • 1 stop at the pistes roundabout
  • 1 stop at Le Fornet near the Télécabine

Stops at these locations are limited to 10 minutes. Please note that parking is prohibited and drivers must be in their vehicles.

With MOV’ICI, the Haute Tarentaise Community of Communes is working alongside the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region to offer you a local car-sharing service that meets the growing need for mobility.

Road information

In view of the density of road traffic on Saturdays during the holidays, consider postponing your departure or arrival in Val d’Isère: you can book your stay from Sunday to Sunday, for example.

The Iseran pass

The Col de l’Iseran road is closed in winter. After the winter season, it opens in June, depending on the progress of snow clearance on the pass, and closes in autumn between October and November, depending on the snow conditions.
