Le Boui-Boui for a raclette evening around the fire pit

Located just off the footpaths and MTB trails through Le Fornet, Le Boui-Boui is opening for its first summer at an altitude of 2,200m, overlooking Val d’Isère. Nestled among the pine trees, the restaurant serves up homemade bistro fare, cooked outdoors on a brazier. Le Boui-Boui welcomes diners in every lunchtime and to enjoy the sunset up until 8pm. They also host two evening meals per week: a raclette dinner, cooked on the brazier and served at a communal table, and a meal to music every Saturday evening. Located off the beaten track, this restaurant is cosy, intimate and fuss-free, perfect for a simple meal with your loved ones.

L’Art des Mets A Garden to Share

At an altitude of 1,900m, in the heart of the Manchet sports park, L’Art des Mets restaurant is a superb pit stop for sports fans and hikers, with its large patio, chalet-style dining room and yurt. Committed to serving up eco-friendly cuisine, L’Art des Mets is inaugurating its own kitchen garden this year. All season long, Manu and Caro will grow herbs, lettuce, radishes and carrots, with the aim of sowing the seeds of ecology in the minds of their guests. They will also organise events and workshops in the garden to share their local knowledge with visitors.

On the events side Around trail running

Experts in organising races in both summer and winter, Val d’Isère is hosting the French mountain running championships over two weekends, 5th to 6th and 12th to 13th July 2025. Up at an altitude of 1,850m, the village boasts a unique terrain for training and competitions, with its high-altitude trails running through the natural landscapes, through forests, nature reserves and even the Vanoise National Park.

2 week-ends of competition with breathtaking high-altitude panoramas:

  • Open races to the all public at the annual High Trail Vanoise,
  • French Trail Championships with France’s top athletes.

On the sports side What's new on two wheels

La petite Vadrouille

An e-bike ride, led by a FACIM tourist guide and a MTB instructor, to learn about the village’s history. A pleasant loop through the fields to explore the hidden spots of Val d’Isère, featuring local produce and Baroque art.
Half-day ride – Sign up at the tourist office €20 per person, free for under 5s riding in a trailer.

Learn to ride with Gaston bike race

Once a week, Gaston, the Chalet des Aiglons kids’ club mascot, hosts a balance bike race around a special track in the Val Vélo Village. All riders take home a prize!
Free activity – Two age categories: 2-3 years and 4-5 years
