An unmissable event in the Alpine Skiing World Cup and a major meeting at the start of the season, Val d’Isère will be bringing together the best skiers on the planet for this event.

The ‘Critérium de la Première Neige’ alpine ski competition was first held in Val d’Isère in 1955. Come and experience first-hand the thrilling atmosphere of the Critérium over 2 weekends! The men’s events will take place on 9 and 10 December, and the women’s events on 16 and 17 December.
FRIDAY 8 DECEMBER
Official opening of the 68th Critérium
Val d’Isère will be celebrating its champions in the resort centre from 5.30pm. Come along to the special area reserved for pedestrians (Avenue...The ‘Critérium de la Première Neige’ alpine ski competition was first held in Val d’Isère in 1955. Come and experience first-hand the thrilling atmosphere of the Critérium over 2 weekends! The men’s events will take place on 9 and 10 December, and the women’s events on 16 and 17 December.
FRIDAY 8 DECEMBER
Official opening of the 68th Critérium
Val d’Isère will be celebrating its champions in the resort centre from 5.30pm. Come along to the special area reserved for pedestrians (Avenue Olympique), where we’ll introduce you to the competitors.
Programme:
• From 5.30pm: Street entertainment on Avenue Olympique, DJ Loran and cheerleaders ‘Pom Pom Girls des Alpes’ (podium on Avenue Olympique)
• 6pm: Official opening of the 68th Critérium, with a screening of Clément Noël’s film and autograph signing with Dynastar athletes.
• 6.30pm: Public draw for start numbers (podium on Avenue Olympique)
The road between the two roundabouts on Avenue Olympique will be closed from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER
Giant Slalom
An unmissable event at the start of the season, the Alpine Skiing World Cup will be taking place on the legendary Face de Bellevarde, for a weekend of madness.
- Fan zone: Thanks to the Critérium’s partners and the exhibitors in the finish area, there will be a whole host of events for everyone to enjoy, including a party stage with pop/rock concerts, a DJ, a brass band, skis to try out, accessory brands on display and tasting sessions with some delicious Savoie specialities to sample.
Price: €10/day
Opening hours: 8.30am to 3.30pm - Slope finish area (at the foot of the ‘Face de Bellevarde’ slope)
Programme:
• 8.30am - Opening of the Critérium village
• From 8.30am - Musical entertainment with “Funky Brass”
• 9am - Walkabout - Fan zone
• 9.30am - Start of 1st heat
• 11am - Pop/rock concert - Finish area stage
• 11.45am - ‘Funky Brass’ brass band - Finish area stage
• 12pm - Walkabout - Fan zone
• 12.10pm - ‘Pom Pom Girls des Alpes’ cheerleading show - Finish area stage
• 1pm - Start of 2nd heat Top 30
• 2pm - Flower ceremony - Finishing enclosure

Val d’Isère will be celebrating its champions in the resort centre from 5.30pm. Come along to the special pedestrian-only area (Avenue Olympique), where we’ll find who’s made it on to the podium for the Men’s Giant Slalom.
Programme:
• From 5.30pm: Street entertainment (Avenue Olympique), DJ Loran and cheerleaders ‘Pom Pom Girls des Alpes’ (podium on Avenue Olympique)
• 6.15pm: Prize-giving ceremony for the Men’s Giant Slalom (podium on Avenue Olympique)
• 6.30pm: Public draw for Men’s Slalom race numbers (podium on Avenue Olympique)

SUNDAY 10 DECEMBER
