The Handisport Val d'Isère association is responsible for developing and promoting a range of winter sports activities for people with disabilities. The association can lend you the equipment you need.
EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE:
- A tandem: the tandem is a device that can only piloted by our instructors. We can take anyone who doesn’t know how to ski, or who can no longer ski, to discover the ski area. Although the equipment is primarily reserved for people with disabilities, the tandem is open to anyone.
- A dual, with stabilizers: the dual-ski, like the tandem, can be piloted by our ski instructors. The only difference between the tandem and the dual-ski is that the dual-ski is limited to people whose weight doesn’t exceed 70kg. The dual-ski can also be used by people who want to learn to sit-ski independently (for people with some torso and arm mobility).
- A uni-ski, with stabilizers: the uni-ski is a device designed for people who want to learn to sit-ski independently. Fitted with stabilizers, a ski instructor initially supervises the person. The instructor's mission is, of course, to make the person self-sufficient as quickly as possible. A week of half-day sessions is strongly recommended for beginners. The only difference between dual-ski and uni-ski is that the dual has two skis.
- A pair of stabilizers (standing skis)
- Intercom to guide the visually impaired or blind.
- 3 mojos
