Mythical off-pistes

Val d’Isère is the ideal place for off-piste skiing. As soon as Val d’Isère opens its doors, you’ll discover untouched slopes, thanks to its geographical location, numerous eastern returns and the high altitude of the ski area, which means exceptional snow cover. Off-piste skiing lets you get away from it all, taking the time to observe the mountains while being aware of their immensity. The name freeride sums up this practice, which is also a state of mind: skiing freely, in an untouched, silent and magical space.

Off-piste skiing in Val d'Isère

Whether you’re a skier, snowboarder or hiker, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for in the Vallon de l’Iseran, the Gorges du Malpasset or the Vallée perdue.

You can take advantage of off-piste skiing at different times of the year: in January on some slopes, and in March/April with spring skiing, which will give you the chance to experience other adventures, all unique and memorable.
Make sure you are accompanied by a mountain professional, who will show you the best off-piste skiing in the region, and make you aware of the dangers of skiing in unmarked and unsafe areas.

Essential prerequisites: follow basic safety rules, get the right equipment and stay informed about the weather and avalanche risk.

Freedom is priceless...
