A race not to be taken lightly! Fewer kilometres on the clock than the High Trail Vanoise but just as tough.

This route is a gateway to the mountainous region of the Avalanche and its magnificent crossing points.
The first part takes place in the Grande Sassière Nature Reserve where, if you are lucky, you can see ibex, chamois and bearded vultures.
It all starts with the ascent of Picheru, then switches to the side of Lac de la Sassière and climbs up to the Col de la Baillettaz. From this 360° viewpoint, you descend to the hamlet of Le Fornet, which you cross and where a refreshment point awaits you. Then begins the second ascent to the famous Col de l'Iseran (the highest road pass in Europe), where you can refuel, before starting the last meters of positive elevation gain to Tunnel 3000 which will allow you to begin the descent to the center of the village of Val d'Isère.
For the curious, here is the list of passes to cross:
– Passage de Picheru – 2,780m
– Col de la Bailletaz – 2,845m
– Col de l’Iseran – 2,764m
– Tunnel des 3000 – 2,940m
– Col de la Madeleine – 2,690m
