As you head up towards the Col du Fond des Fours from the bottom of The Manchet valley, you can walk to the Fond des Fours mountain refuge (altitude: 2,537m) in around 2 hours through the Vanoise National Park. Caretaker Claire welcomes hikers with her two young sons and the neighbouring marmots. Food and drinks are served all day long. If you want to enjoy the full refuge experience, the Fond des Fours sleeps up to 42 guests in its dormitory, for a night in the wilderness.
It is also possible to camp in a special area by the refuge (by reservation only).
From June 15th to September 15th.
The refuge du Fond des Fours, at the heart of the national park of Vanoise, is ideally situated for the discovery of the fauna, the flora.
