This is the highest paved road in the whole of the Alps. From the summit at 2764m you have glorious views across the glaciers of Val d’Isère and the Vanoise National Park. It’s also a one of the classic climbs of the Tour de France.
The Col de l’Iseran marks the frontier between the Tarentaise and Maurienne valleys. Here you can follow in the tracks of the pro cyclists and climb the 17km through 920m to the top of the pass. If that’s sounds too much like hard work you can always rent an e-bike from a number of hotels or shops in Val.
TIP!
Come and discover the highaltitude flora with a guide. Free buses run all day up to the Col and guided trips are available every Thursday.*
