Snow chains are mandatory on at least two driven wheels on snowy road sections when the sign “special equipment required” is displayed. If you have to chain, you must use the indicated chaining areas. There is a chaining area “La Raie” when you are on the road to Val d’Isère after Sainte-Foy Tarentaise.
