Village side expansions and new features

Val Square Commerces & Co, the new heart of La Daille

The development of the hamlet of La Daille continues its course with the total reconstruction of the shopping center, which becomes Val Square – Commerces & Co.

A 6 million euro project to completely rethink this nearly 2,000 sq. m. space: energy renovation, reorganization of spaces and reconstruction of 6 shops.

Val Square is a real place for life and services at the foot of the slopes and in the heart of La Daille with its 8 addresses on 2 floors and a digital tourist welcome point.

Food and beverages include Les Tontons restaurant, with its sharing menu based around grilling, Jami Delivery in Click & Collect and delivery, and the Les Tontons bar from breakfast to the very end of the evening.

On the ski side, Skimium Val Ski Shop becomes one of the largest ski stores in the village;

the ESF, also rebuilt, remains present with its kindergarten at the foot of Val Square.

For real estate, the Val d’Isère Agence annex, welcomes its customers in its 2.0 offices.

The Spar supermarket remains established in Val Square and Fasty Foody completes the offer.

Expansion of digital tourist services

The Tourist Office has been completely redesigned to welcome visitors this winter. This new, modernized space gives way to:

– a boutique to take home a souvenir of the destination,

– informational islands with 2 touch screens that customers can consult independently,

– a museography corner with its fresco tracing the history of the village,

– a space for the new Loyalty Club with its dedicated screen.

A network of information screens has also been deployed: in the Tourist Office window and at Val Square, hamlet of La Daille.
The aim is to complete the welcome and information offer and respond to customers’ desire for quick, independent information. These new features enhance the digital offering already present with the Val d’Isère ski website and app.

Lift stations

The Funival and Olympique cable car bottom stations are being redesigned this winter. As well as improving the design of these reception areas, the renovation will facilitate access to the express purchase terminals.

Loyalty Club

Val d’Isère is opening its Club for lovers of Val d’Isère, the destination’s “enthusiasts”, a way of thanking its best ambassadors.

The Club offers discoveries of on- and off-ski activities, unusual events, behind-the-scenes immersions in the destination and tailor-made offers to suit everyone’s interests. Within the Club, “medallists” distinguish themselves by their loyalty and are rewarded.

After 10 years of vacationing in Val d’Isère, everyone can claim their first medal.
This highly coveted status calls for new, even more exclusive privileges: the traditional medal award, but also festive events and invitations around village life.

Food and beverage

Opening of the Alpin

A new place to dine in the heart of the old village, L’Alpin offers traditional, convivial home cooking.
In an authentic chalet, the restaurant seats 64 and has a bar where you can enjoy an aperitif from 6:30 pm.
The atmosphere is warm between stone, wood, wool and antique furniture.
The menu is in two parts with one part to share. L’Alpin will also be open for lunch & dinner in summer, and for dinner only in winter.

L'Ouillette: sunshine by the lake

With its view of the frozen lake, the Ouillette restaurant opens its terrace after being completely rebuilt.
The establishment offers three catering options: a snack for lunch on the go, a qualitative self-service, and a restaurant with brazier, galettes and suggestions on the upper floor.
In December 2023, the outdoor part only will be open, the indoor restaurant will open for December 2024.

La Folie Douce: the artistic table

The artistic side of La Folie Douce takes on a new dimension with the introduction of even more captivating tableaux and cabarets. From now on, visitors will be able to enjoy three performance spaces, offering a variety of dazzling artistic performances. The cabaret stage remains a flagship venue, while an outdoor toitterrace has been set up next to the VIP area to allow guests to enjoy the show while admiring the panoramic view. The cabaret also continues at La Cucùcina, combining artistic performances with culinary experiences.

The Tontons restaurant

The Tontons restaurant offers a warm atmosphere blending vintage touches with the spirit of the great brasseries. Specializing in braise cooking, the kitchen, with its charcoal oven and real grill, opens onto the dining room. The interior space accommodates

80 covers for lunches and dinners. The restaurant opens onto a south-facing terrace with large sharing tables and guinguette garlands for lunches at the foot of the slopes (85 covers). The cuisine focuses on products, with finely selected meats and fish, and on sharing, with fine starters, gourmet wines and a wide range of side dishes. An atmosphere and cuisine for bon vivants.

Le bar des Tontons

The new bar at Val Square is a real place of life, open from 8am to 2am, from breakfast to late-night génépi. The Tontons bar is spread over two floors, with an open mezzanine. There’s something going on every day: concerts, wine and beer tasting evenings, wellness activities in the mornings and conferences in the afternoons. During the day, enjoy the sunny terrace: après ski with live music and DJ sets. The à la carte menu features breakfasts, Jami Delivery’s world cuisine and cutting-edge cocktails.

Hotels

Airelles Val d’Isère, the 5* chalet

Airelles Val d’Isère opens its very first chalet on the slopes. With a surface area of 220m2 and 4 bedrooms, it will accommodate up to 8 guests and offer direct access to the snow front from its spacious south-facing terrace and views of the Bellevarde mountain.
At the chalet, guests will find the warm, intimate atmosphere that characterizes Airelles Val d’Isère thanks to refined decoration and access to all the hotel’s services. Rates on request.

Le Val d’Isère 3*, the Solaise apartment

In the heart of the village, on the Tourist Office square, the 3* Le Val d’Isère hotel offers a new 5-bedroom penthouse apartment on two floors.
With a breathtaking view over the village, its bell tower and the Solaise massif, the apartment of the same name extends over 220m² and can accommodate up to 12 people. Guests have access to the hotel spa with its swimming pool, hammam and gym. From €2,000 per night including breakfast.

The new Gypaète play trail

One of Val d’Isère’s strongest symbols, the lammergeier, is dedicated to a fun trail on Bellevarde. All along the descent, you’ll discover a scenography based on local fauna and natural materials, in the tradition of the Lost Village, with the strong meaning of a bird of standing from the Vanoise National Park. Inspired by land art, the overall universe is broken down into different modules, including: a ski tunnel dressed as a lammergeier, a strong and significant entrance arch, a giant feather that can be activated as a xylophone, and an arch with a game to tap.

RESET at Refuge de Solaise

Perched at an altitude of 2251 m on the ski slopes, Le Refuge de Solaise hotel & spa unveils its new well-being and serenity program: “RESET”. Like its name, this signature ritual has been imagined around 5 words and steps: Regeneration, Breathe, Recharge, Reconnect, Restore. RESET offers a unique physical and olfactory experience that invites total reconnection between body and mind. Physical practices and holistic treatments are on the program for this summit awakening of the senses.

Ski passes

Val d'Isère 4-hour ski pass

28 new access control terminals are being installed for this winter, offering the technical possibility of creating the 4h pass.
This new offer responds to growing customer demand, due to the new, more hybrid practices of mountain holidays: between downhill skiing and other activities.
The Val d’Isère 4-hour ski pass is priced at €54 for 1 adult during the peak season (December 23 to May 5).

The new version of the Val d’Isère Ski app will be available this winter on the app store & play store. The most important feature is the simplification of the customer path to online ski pass purchase, with significant time savings thanks to a contactless badge reloading system via NFC.
As on the old app we find: geolocated free shuttle service, interactive piste map, openings / closures, webcam, live weather.
