Bike Park Tignes - Val d'Isère Is it for me?

Between breathtaking scenery, rides overlooking our mountain lakes and technical trails for the more seasoned riders, we reveal our top tips before you set off, head in the handlebars, on our Bike Park.

The Bike Park For all, with humility

The Bike Park is for everyone, as long as you’re not too physically fit and you choose a course suited to your skill level. Choose the trails according to your level to make the most of it, and not risk scaring or injuring yourself.

Preconceived ideas around the Bike Park
I know how to ride a bike I can go with my eyes closed

Perhaps, but we’re talking about mountain biking here, on terrain that is sometimes unstable and often changing. An instructor is recommended for a safe introduction to this activity.

Choosing the right mountain bike To hit the slopes

With well-maintained, reliable, solid equipment. You don’t go down the Face de Bellevarde in winter with cross-country skis, and the same goes for the mountain bike trails: they were designed for mountain mountain biking. They’re not flat roads. If you don’t have the right equipment, we recommend renting some (with protection, advice, etc.).

No need for a plan I know the tracks by heart!

Please note that the ski slopes have nothing to do with our mountain bike trails. You must follow the mountain bike signs and nothing else (ski slopes under construction, 4×4, etc.). We appeal to your vigilance and common sense. Study our Bike Park map before you set off.

If I find the track too hard I go down the ski slopes or the 4×4 track

For your own safety, it is essential to stay on the marked mountain bike trails and only on them.

The right reflexes In the event of an accident

Notify emergency services (18/112), indicating the station, the name of the trail and, if possible, the nearest beacon number to where you are. Then the planned and organized rescue chain will get under way. Rescue is free, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to be responsible (mountain bikes, protection, suitable trails). Bike patrols will support the fire department if necessary to lower the victim’s mountain bike.

Freewheeling in the Bike Park
  • How long does it take to do the Popeye with your family?

    1h30 with breaks.

  • How long does it take to get to Tignes?

For an experienced mountain biker, it takes 1 hour to reach Tignes and the same time to return to Val d’Isère.

  • What are the safety rules at the Bike Park?
    • Adapted mountain bike essential.
    • Mandatory helmet and protection highly recommended.
    • Mountain bike forbidden in the Parc National de la Vanoise under penalty of fine.
    • Priority to pedestrians! On All Mountain and E-Bike trails.
    • Beware of herds, ride at a walking pace.

A dozen patrollers maintain the trails on a daily basis for your pleasure and safety.

  • Car wash

A bike cleaning station is available opposite the Centre Aquasportif.

  • A course for all-terrain wheelchairs (FTT)

Following a collaboration with the French Handisport Federation, the Bike Park Tignes-Val d’Isère welcomes its first course dedicated to both disabled and able-bodied FTT (Fauteuils Tout Terrain) riders. The new route combines sections of the Popeye trail and the Val Bleue, with “FTT” markers added on the necessary signs. Course difficulty “2” in the French Handisport Federation national rating.
